Make It Work Nevada is here as a resource to give you the space to learn and discuss the topics that are most relevant to you. We provide a variety of ways to stay connected to our work and participate in furthering our mission. Join us each month for our monthly programs, each covering different topics around our community, our people, and our purpose.
1. Mental Health Matters
Mental health is an important part of taking care of ourselves. We all know the struggles of daily life like gas prices being too high, cost of living going up, and we’re never able to catch up on work. Our mental capacity is reaching its limit and there never seems to be enough resources to help.
Join us every 2nd Thursday of the month for a workshop led by Dr. Tiffany Smith as she helps us unpack everything in life that’s weighing us down. Feel comfortable to share what’s on your mind or come to learn tools that can help you manage life’s daily stressors.

2. The Rundown
“The Rundown with Tameka and Carrie” is an informative live segment about education in Nevada. Join us for a Facebook Live conversation where Tameka and Carrie dive into the decisions CCSD makes that impact your children. Hear the lively conversation from two parents who’ve had children matriculate through the district. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions and learn more about what’s really going on.
When: 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at 10 a.m.

3. My Body, My Authority
Women, stand up and make your voice heard. Join us every 3rd Wednesday of the month for our live chat with BlPOC women. This monthly conversation centers around topics about reproductive justice and the movement that needs to take place for us to ensure we get it! Conversations are hosted exclusively in our private Facebook group, Powerbuilders.
When: 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 6 p.m.

4. Play Cousins Podcast
We are all familiar with that one friend who you could talk to about anything, act a fool with, and lose track of time. Well, Play Cousins the Podcast is exactly that! Erika and Derek, who are not related but act like family, dive into topics such as politics, pop culture and life from a Black point of view.
When: New episodes air on KCEP on the 3rd Saturday of the month at Noon.
5. Social Hour
Start your weekend off on the right foot with networking, refreshments, and free activities! Our monthly Social Hour events are the perfect place to meet like-minded people, connect with the Make It Work Nevada staff, and get plugged into your community.
When: Last Friday of the month at 6 p.m.
